To Gain Peace With My Life

To whom it may concern,

so far I have lived my life full of pain, hatred, and in fear of the unknown. I would rather push than pull and I haven't come to terms with the people in my life or the path that my life has taken. I wander aimlessly in confusion trying to find someone, something, anything capable of bringing me to answer; a truth bringing me to terms with my own life. I love life but without a reason. I'm lost in it. And like most of my loves I have never fully committed to life and given 100% of my drive, strength, and intuition to the development of my being. In a sense I don't think anyone around me has either. I intend to change that. I intend to change my life, change me… But in order to do that I must wage war with the very fiber of my current being. It won't be fun and I will get hurt along the way but my life is slipping away one second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, at a time. I can't stand idle in these habits anymore...

You...

I feel as if everyone around me is, to some extent… blind. I see who I am, and I know who they project themselves as, but not a single one of them knows who I am, or for that matter, shows who they really are. In a sense, the masking of things about yourself in order to project an image that you deem more admirable (than the truth) by others, is telling us something about you that you don’t mean to say... You don’t like some part of yourself and since you don’t like it you feel as if others won’t either. You begin to take shame in that part of you and as a result you cover it up with acts and illusions. You project what you want others to view as you, hiding that part of yourself even you can’t stand…

Love... Ha!

I don't believe in a pure definable form of love. On the contrary, as I think that um, love is undefinable. I believe that it is merely a concept that we, as humans have created to justify a natural feeling that we partake in when we find someone of the opposite sex to be attractive. I realize that I am still only sixteen years old and that maybe, just maybe I could be wrong about this, but I believe that if I am wrong I am at least close; because, what is the human race but just a glorified and altogether privileged animal? We all have natural feelings that other animals have that we sometimes can't explain but since we have a mind unlike most animals', that can reason and think too a much further extent, we feel that we have to have a reason for the these feelings that we feel. We try to logically explain things in a way that we can accept. Animals on the other hand, don't think twice about it. They feel and they act.  Humans feel, think, and then act. Were it not for this, we would be just as special or unique as any other animal on earth. It is not a secret that humans have an enlarged thinking and reasoning capacity compared to most animals, and I state this assuming that you already knew, but I believe people don't understand that this is why we must make up explanations for things that we can't explain logically. According to the way our mind works when we think about things, the things we think about should make sense or it should make sense to act on them. But sometimes our more common instincts and natural feelings are unreasonable or unexplainable. So in order to cope with this, humans glorify these natural and basic feelings. They put them on a pedestal and give them a special name and place in the human order of life. Love is one of these many feelings. The initial attraction somebody feels towards someone else is a mere chemical reaction in their own head. What follows is a bond created in the time spent with the person that you've become attracted to. You can say there is something special about this feeling all you want, but what it really comes down to is the way that the human body was designed to act and react to its environment. This environment includes other human beings. To say the least, we have made a mysterious fog out of something that didn't need to be clouded at all, and in conclusion the only thing special about the natural instincts a human can feel is that we, unlike most animals, don't know what to do with them.

The Heart Child

You most likely have one in your life. Your heart child is a person in your life that you've given a small piece of your heart to. You love this person like anyone you ever loved, but something happened along the way that prevented you from ever asking them if they felt the same way. Now they own a claim to the corner of your heart and you never collected on theirs. But its okay. you should never push this relationship if you're able to avoid it, because though they may have taken a piece with them they will unknowingly keep it safe. You can most likely always find comfort in talking to this person. When you do end up taking a risk and getting your heart broken, at least you have a small piece invested somewhere else. In that case just turn to that person or two and let your heart mend...

It Will Never Change

When Abraham Lincoln said that, “Human nature can be modified to some extent, but human nature cannot be changed,” he is trying to tell the people that he believes that human nature is flexible but not breakable. There is no doubt that Lincoln has reason to believe this because throughout his life he was tormented by struggle and conflict. This most definitely influenced his view of humans and the reason they act the way they do. However, the quote still rings true despite the bias created by the turmoil in his life.
The fact that human nature varies is obvious. Wherever anyone looks they can find good people and bad, strange and normal, right and wrong, etc. It is everywhere, thus human nature is different everywhere. Non-the-less, some people look at all of the human species as one generalized and stereotypical body. If human nature could not be at least altered then there would be no difference in the way that all of humanity across the earth acts. Our natural human instincts and ideologies are the foundation for our behavior. Thus, since there are countless behavioral differences in humans all across the world there must be “modifications” or slight tweaks of the nature of certain groups or individuals.
Also, human nature in and of itself has changed throughout time. From the first young, thriving civilizations to sprout among the Fertile Crescent, to the fast paced, and eccentric countries of the twenty first century, human nature and behavior has adapted to the development of new technology, shifts in power and control, advancement in philosophy, and much more. The most important idea though is behind the second part of Lincoln’s quote where he states that “human nature cannot be changed.”
Human nature does stand unbreakable and unchangeable because, though it can be altered to extreme extents; it cannot go beyond the realm of good and evil. Seen by most, as the most basic and fundamental conflict in existence, good and evil constantly influences humans and their actions, and inversely affects the nature of humanity itself. As a matter of fact, the way people define anything on earth is through the use of difference from something else. This includes the idea of human nature. Though able to change from good to evil and vice versa, human nature cannot be anything else but one or the other, or a balance of the two. This sets the scene for a very unusual paradox.
In conclusion, the ability to change human nature and behavior is human nature in and of itself. Thus it can vary greatly but, so long as it does, it will never truly change. The volatile and diverse state that it remains in is the way that it is meant to be. To stop it from being “altered” would be a change in human nature but the fact of the matter is, it would also be inhuman to do so. Besides, the power to stop the raging war between the opposites of good and evil does not exist. Neither would we want to do it, lest we lose the ability to feel good as opposed to bad, love as opposed to hatred or any of the other polar ideologies that stem from the fight between good and bad.

Arrogance + Ignorants = Stupidity

Let me just say this... What little, self-centered, prick is so full of pride in their religion that they would make a chain like this and essentialy condemn everyone that doesnt respond to it? Four things come to my mind when I see crap like this:

"I believe in Jesus Christ & have accepted him as my personal savior. One facebooker has challenged all believers to put this on their wall. In the Bible it says, if you deny me in front of your peers, I will deny you in front of my Father, at the gates of Heaven. Simple, If you love God & aren't afraid to say it REPOST THIS! (Remember Matthew 10:32-33)
  • egocentric
  • narrow-minded
  • inconsiderate
  • Hypocritical
I'm terribly sorry if I offended anyone, but people need to realize that first off this is wrong not only in my eyes but in the eyes of the one you claim as your God. I may not be an expert on the subject but I do know that one of the things that he (The Christian God) disagrees with is public prayer and confession. He told you to keep it private for a reason. To pray or speak in his name publicly not only shows that a person is full of pride (the most dangerous of the seven deadly sins) but also makes people of other religions, whom don't want to hear what you're preaching look badly upon Christians. Thus your purpose is defeated if this is how you go about professing your faith.
The Christian God may say never to deny Christ in front of your peers, but I'm completely certain that the one at true fault is the one that knowingly challenges a Christian to do so. When God told his followers not to deny him in front of their peers when they are challenged, it was meant in the context of when people of other religions challenge the christian body as a whole, not when christians find the need to ask their neighbor if they have faith in the same god! It's absolutely disgusting that anyone need profess their faith in public or online to satisfy the curiosity or childish impulse of such an immature being. It makes me sick. Did they once think of the millions of people that may, just may be a part of another religion?
Imagine this: some random person comes to you and says that you're going to die and go to a fiery place and suffer for all eternity because their imaginary friend that you don't believe in says so. That is essentially what you're doing when you post something like this stupid paragraph above, online in any chatroom or on any social network (or for that matter in any place of contact to the public). Seriously? Are you so egotistical and self centered that you feel the need to profess your private religious beliefs on FACEBOOK!!!? If so then you're a hypocrite and i would imagine that that's not a huge step in his direction. That's the kind of underhanded nonsense that people actually go to hell for if they do it enough. Just saying.
